Area Map
Hamamatsu has been known as a big producer of musical instruments, mainly pianos, for more than 100 years, thus the museum was established. From old European instruments to ethnic music and Japanese traditional instruments, 1,200 instruments are displayed by district. You can see not only a variety of musical instruments from the world, but also can play many instruments including piano, guitar, African drums, and Indonesian bamboo bells by yourself. Also, mini concerts, workshops, and talk shows by music professionals and experts are held irregularly.
