Mastushima is one of the three most beautiful sceneries of Japan and is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty. It consists of 260 islands and has been the object for haikus, tankas, Japanese poems, and pictures. Famous viewing spots are Yondaikan, Godaido, Zuigenji Temple and Kanrantei. The sunrise and full moon are the best times to experience the beautiful scenery. They are picturesque landscapes and quite mysterious.
