Mr. Okumura captivates people with his exquisite dishes, which are made using skills developed over many years of training.
He was born in 1969 in Shiga. As a child, he was inspired to become a chef by the owner of a sushi restaurant that his family frequently visited. He studied cooking in high school and at a culinary school before joining the Miyako Hotel in April 1989 as a pastry chef apprentice. Four years later, he transferred to the dining restaurant, where he trained as a chef for 15 years. Subsequently, he worked as a chef at a hotel restaurant in Kyoto and at renowned restaurants before going independent in July 2011, when he opened Restaurant Shin. He captivates many with his vibrant and exquisite French cuisine.
